...and then i got a second wind, dyed my hair, played house as in washing dishes, sweeping, taking out trash, paying bills and putting some of the art supplies away in their little cubbies. but still my creative mind kept saying, three more hours till bedtime, you're on a roll and they don't come often like today so why not try some fimo clay creativity.
and boy was i surprised. messy, cumbersome (because they require lots of layers of mediums)but what a result. i love them. ofcourse i wanted to finish them and drilled holes in them knowing i had some brass jump rings somewhere. Murphy is hiding them, i know he is. I turned the house upside down and could not find them. ofcourse i found the silver and gold ones but those aren't the ones i needed for these pendants. ooooo was i p....... but what am i complaining about... i have Micheals down the street, not two blocks from my home. i'll share them finished once they are all assembled properly, this is just a sneak preview for now.

...and then in the afternoon, I lost it, really lost it and played kid all afternoon.

back into the frazzle, really inspired. i guess i work well under pressure or when i am confronted with a challenge. this morning alone i made four things and have most of the afternoon to create since it is a rainy day here and i love staying home on rainy days. plenty of coffee and cake on the counter, Turner Calssic Movies in the background, the scent of a vanilla candle and peace and quiet.

i have yet to play with my displays, have the most beautiful wooden cabinets i found at a thrift store still in the car, just not enough energy to bring them inside and play with them yet.

i took a much needed break over the weekend and went to stay in topanga, my favorite local getaway. nestled int he santa monica mountains, this canyon is filled with funky custom built homes dotting the hills and taking a walk up and down the winding roads is a feast to the eyes. i have never seen so many different plants and trees. the squirrels are everywhere, playing right before your eyes. then there's that sense of peace at night, quiet and the sky with pristine stars, the smell of herbs and crackling woods. only one and a half days but it was heaven for my soul.

one more week to go and still at it breaking my promise to stop on friday last. i just feel i don't have enough things for the fair and people are already asking about them on flickr so really must make a few of each with slight variations.

today i discovered a new bead store (CreativeCastle) in newbury park and went all beady eyed buying a few glass floral beads i just loved. there was a felting and beading class going on and visited for a few minutes in awe at the elegance of the work being accomplished. i want i want i want said i but calmly talked myself into remaining a self-taught felter/beader for now since workshops can go for as high as $175.

in the meantime here a few of my little crafty items which i've been wrapping in selaphone bags so the display looks a bit more professional.

stitch, stitch, stitch with little time for anything else. i plan to stop this weekend and just plan the displays, relax and take care of myself for the show. i began to feel a little fluesy this morning so worried that i might be pushing myself too much.

had to make another of the blue scapulars, just loved it too much and when it sold i had a bittersweet feeling about it leaving me.

there is a full moon tonight. amid the sensatory chaos in this ever-more-complex-world i happened to notice. thank God. off to Ojai to join in a full moon ceremony.

the laundry heap lingers beckoning action in a corner, duty calls, a thousand chores for simnple survival beckon. they can wait for now although the morning found me vacuuming and cleaning counters and lavatories to start the week on a fairly tidy note. once in a while one has to stop and put some order, sort things out, take a deep breath, just breathe in and breathe out, realx without giving things too much thought.

yes, i pursue beauty for only beauty is truth & truth beauty. i chase it. i listen to it, i taste it. i read it. i smell it, i undig it, anything to be present in the bounty of life, fleeing the ugly side of life as fast as i can and as far removed from it as i can.

fRiDa vIvE

sometimes I think i,m totally crazy to dive into a project that completely takes over my entire day. it only took me 6 hours. i had always wanted to do a frida tribute and this piece is so filled with love. the picture really doesn't do it justice.

i am still working around the clock to have enough things for displaying on october 18 at the art fair. last night i went to bed past 3:30 a.m but was lucky THE GRAPES OF WRATH was on TCM, what photography and what a story. black and white film is so powerful.

i am a little scared abot the fair; i'm very shy when it comes to the face to face showing of my work.
