Blue Shelfie

so, while i'm in the house mode, spring cleaning and moving things about, might as well go all out and leave a record of how things looked around may of 2014.  

or should i say, how i made it look.  because the truth is all these things get shifted around alot.  

the enamelware, as you might recall, was originally on a shelf above my table in my art studio.  much of the jug collection remains there but i love how the blue enamelware looks inside this old grundgy

cabinet.

i started my collection about 4 years ago.  enamelware is expensive and hard to find so one piece at a time has been added., mostly old coffee and teapots and one ice bucket.

 i love how it contrasts with that pale pink of the cecile brunner roses and how it goes with the pink garland on the enamel cannister on the left.  i have bid and lost many a time on ebay for the matching coffeepot and utensil holder.

my favorite blueish color that my family is growing tired of is just about in every room in the house and extends to the garden since i fell in love with sissinghurst. 

a esa hora del casi tuto

 

 me encanta esa hora del dia en que hay que prender luces y la casa adquiere esos tonos ocre tan acogedores.  este rincon de mi casa es uno de mis favoritos, un poco recargado lo se, pero tambien reflejo de mi amor por mi herencia inglesa. colecciono de cuantohay que diga "made in england".

 habia querido dedicarle mas tiempo al segundo piso, cambiar un poco mi pieza, empezar algunos proyectos pascueros pero entre busqueda de casas y pago de impuestos (a ultima hora) parecemos correcaminos. ya les cuento sobre eso.  (marcela, tu dream board ha hecho surgir milagros).

 asi y todo hoy a eso de la hora del casi tuto, me percate de lo calido que es un hogar a esta hora. de pronto me encuentro en mi cama con las ultimas dos revistas de romantic home y una pelicila de bette davis de trasfondo, sonando por supuesto.

perdonen que salgan un poquito oscuras las fotos pero acuerdense que son pasadas las 9 de la noche por aca.

happy, happy again

estoy tan orgullosa con el resultado de este piso!  demoro tres dias hacer el forro porque eleji un algodon muy delgado y delicado en dos tonos, pero valio la pena.  lo rico es que el piso no costo mucho, lo pinte yo misma y le agrege una estampa, tambien muy economica.  es mi tesoro mas reciente y me sonrio al verlo porque lo hice YO MISMITA sola.
