the things that blew me away

it couldn't have happened at a worse time. just when i'm full of vim & vigor my back gives out on me. only once in my life has my back failed me when moving a huge potted plant. this time it was the silliest of silliest moves, a totally unexpected wrong bend while putting something away in a low cabinet. so here i am, bedridden and in pain. and dependent.
what do i do? well, read a lot, sew a bit, make lists of what to do when fit again and a lot of fooling around with the laptop. a click or two on ebay, a few more on etsy, dick blick and joggles, hotmail, flickr and the all-absorbing pinterest. i am reminded of marcela's post last friday.
so here is a medley of the beauty i've come across while fictiously being out there in the world.
first of all, a couple of quotes:
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

o sweet spontaneous
earth how often have
the
doting
fingers of
prurient philosophers pinched
and
poked thee,
has the naughty thumb
of science prodded
thy beauty.
how
often have religions taken
thee upon their scraggy knees
squeezing and
buffeting thee that thou mightest conceive
gods
(but
true
to the incomparable
couch of death thy
rhythmic
lover
thou answerest
them only with
spring)
